The kind of testing a pet needs depends on their breed, age, as well as any type of condition they may have. Our team is able to perform the following lab tests on your pets:

• Blood chemistries and computer blood count
• Urine tests and fecal examinations (i.e. testing for the presence of hookworms, whipworms, tapeworms and roundworms)
• Skin scrapes
• Snap tests for pancreatitis and viruses (e.g. parvovirus, feline leukemia virus and feline immunodeficiency virus)
• Ear, skin and mass cytology

In addition to these in-house tests, we also utilize an outside veterinary reference laboratory in Langley for specialized bloodwork panels, urine and skin cultures such as:

• Bacterial and fungal cultures
• Comprehensive thyroid panels
• Tick panels
• Vaccine titers
• Cytology and histopathology

Blood work is a routine part of a diagnostic work up, and helps the veterinarian provide your pet with the best treatment options and care. The ability to obtain lab results the same day is especially valuable for sick animals or those undergoing an unplanned anesthetic or surgery.
Our in-house lab allows us to perform many types of testing that can aid in the diagnosis and treatment of your pet.

Our technicians are important members of the team, and they collect the samples and perform these diagnostic tests for our veterinarians while your pet is being treated on an outpatient or hospitalized basis. If necessary, we also courier medical samples to veterinary reference labs for more specialized tests.
